π§ Sample Itinerary β 6 Days Shrikhand Mahadev Group Tour
Day 1: Chandigarh/Shimla to Jaon Village
Your journey begins with a group pickup from Chandigarh or Shimla, making it convenient for all travelers. Next, enjoy a scenic drive through the mountains as you head toward Jaon, the base village nestled near Nirmand in Kullu. Upon arrival, settle into a cozy homestay or tented accommodation, surrounded by the serene beauty of Himachal.
D-y 2: Jaon to Thachdu (~14 km trek)
The trek starts early from Jaon village, where pilgrims begin their ascent with great enthusiasm. As you move ahead, the trail winds through dense forests, gushing streams, and wooden bridges, offering glimpses of natureβs untouched beauty. After crossing Singhgad, the climb becomes steeper, testing your stamina and spirit. Soon after, youβll pass through Barathi Nala, a refreshing stop where trekkers often rest. Eventually, youβll reach Thachdu, your first major campsite, surrounded by towering peaks and alpine meadows. Here, youβll rest overnight in tents, recharging for the next leg of the spiritual journey.
Dy 3: Thachdu to Bheem Talai to Parvati Bagh
After an early start from Thachdu, the trail quickly gains elevation, taking you through rocky paths and misty ridgelines. Soon, youβll arrive at Bheem Talai, a small yet significant stop named after Bhima from the Mahabharata. Here, many trekkers pause to hydrate and soak in the panoramic views. From this point onward, the terrain becomes more challenging, with narrow paths and snow patches testing your endurance. Gradually, as you ascend, wildflowers and moraine-covered trails guide you toward Parvati Bagh, a breathtaking high-altitude meadow believed to be sacred. Finally, youβll camp here for the night, surrounded by silence, starlit skies, and divine energy, preparing for the ultimate climb ahead.
Day 4: Summit Day β Shrikhand Mahadev Darshan (~5,227m)
The final and most awaited day begins before dawn, as trekkers set out early from Parvati Bagh under starlit skies. At first, the trail leads through steep ridges and glacial patches, demanding both focus and faith. Soon, youβll reach Nain Sarovar, a sacred lake where many choose to pause briefly for prayer. From there, the climb intensifies, navigating boulder fields and narrow ridgelines. Step by step, the towering Shrikhand Mahadev Shivalinga comes into view, standing tall at an awe-inspiring altitude of 5,227 meters. Finally, after hours of effort and devotion, you arrive at the summit β a moment of spiritual fulfillment and triumph. After darshan, the descent begins carefully, returning to Parvati Bagh for well-earned rest.
D-y 5: Trek back to Jaon
After a restful night at Parvati Bagh, the trek back begins early. First, you retrace your steps through alpine meadows and rocky paths. Then, passing Bheem Talai and Thachdu, the journey gradually descends. Finally, you arrive at Jaon village, completing the memorable Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra.
